One of the most famous architects of our times, Norman Foster, decided to design an unusual yacht.

It is made for the wealthiest clients that expect luxury and novelties. Units designed by Lord Norman Foster are constructed for the fractional ownership super-yacht company YachtPlus and its most demanding customers.

The appearance of a luxury 41-meter yacht is the result of 15 months efforts. An entity called the 40 ”Signature Series” is to ensure larger areas of decks and much more comfort than any contemporary yacht of comparable size. In the process of design the most emphasis was placed on quality and quantity of space, outdoor terraces, light and views. For example, the path from the largest of the four decks inside the boat leads through translucent staircase, what increases the amount of natural light that reaches the cabins. Glazed interior finished with wood and best materials should ensure the passengers comfort and excellent conditions during their cruise.

In the summer, the yachts are located in the waters of the Mediterranean, while in winter they are transferred to the Caribbean. Each unit has a full crew consisting of a captain, a chef, an engineer, a deckhand and two hostesses. Customers can buy some shares in the yacht, which will guarantee a few weeks of free flights. The costs of maintaining the boat and crew are spread among individual shareholders.

A 1/8th share in one of the yachts costs €1,875,000. This ensures 30 nights a year onboard split between the Mediterranean and the Caribbean. For those interested in 15 nights only, there is 1/16th share for €975.000. Additionally, the owners have to pay annual management fee, which is estimated at €1,600,000 in total. It will cover all year round maintenance, port charges, a permanent crew of seven, 24/7 lifestyle management, marine and hotel operations, , transoceanic crossings, and cruise itinerary management.

The contract length is 8 years, after which the yachts will be sold and the owners will receive full pro-rated proceeds of the sale.





Currently there are 3 yachts in service: Ocean Pearl, Ocean Emerald, and Ocean Sapphire. The fourth one should have its premiere in the beginning of 2011.

UAE boat builder is making a fortune and have sold more than 30 small-sized yachts in the previous year which is their first year of existence and operating. Abu-Dhabi based company Emocean Marina has managed to sell more than 30 boats in a category that is often called ‘pocket yachts’. The company’s CEO Hamad Kassab Bachi tells us his story and how his company profited during the global recession.

The term, pocket yachts was coined after seeing the initial sketches and drawings of their first yacht designs that were 27-foot in length. The term mini-yachts were used before, but pocket yachts seem more suitable for this kind of yachts having smaller dimensions but are feature packed and stylish.

When buying a boat people are always very careful when choosing a brand. Old, established brands seem to have advantage when it comes to offering you their products. But in these crisis times, more and more people are interested in getting value for their money, and care less when choosing a yacht manufacturer. The current global economical problems have created an opportunity for new shipbuilders to emerge on the market and show their new and fresh ideas in the yacht manufacturing industry. Yacht selling business is growing each year, decade after decade, and it seems that is not really affected by the world economical problems.

Emocean Marina is certified and approved by all major organizations in the world such as US Coast Guard, so we can be sure about the safety standards and quality of construction of this newcomer.

Main selling points include affordable price and features not typical for the boats this size: generators, air-conditioning, sleeping cabins and accommodation for four passengers, many advanced safety and navigation features, usually not present in this class…

The plan is to expand the production and offer boats in several dimensions: 27ft (9m), 37ft (12.5m) and 47ft (15.5m). These three hulls will be produced in several variants: “Super Sports”, used for fishing, driving, water sports…. Day Sports” variant more geared toward comfort, style and luxury. The third option is the Cabin Crew boats. The top speed of the boat varies from 40 to 55 miles per hour, depending on the motorization.

Their production line offers a great potential, having a capacity to build one boat per week; 50 percent of this year’s production is already sold. Emocean Marina is very active on boat shows, their boats have been voted as best selling a few times. The price range extends from 52,000 to 80,000 Euros ($70,000 to $110,000), depending on the options!

Maybe their greatest success is in their philosophy. Every business is cheaper and more affordable to start during the recession. Hiring expenses are lower; you can buy materials and technology at a great discount. With great financial planning and optimizing you can achieve great results and selling numbers. Nearly 60% percent of the boats were destined for Europe. Emocean Marina has just two boats in stock, only for showing purposes.

They have carefully started with 27-footer and slowly moving to building bigger boats. There were some constraints and problems due to the incomplete infrastructure in Abu Dhabi and a fact that many of the new bigger marinas are still under construction. And of course a lower risk at the beginning.

Another thing to point out is that they are using latest design guidelines and award-winning design teams, paying top-dollars for their unique styling. Rest assured that you boat will be modern and beautiful.

Jonget shipyard based in Holland is proud to present their first SuperYacht, 39-meters in length motor yacht of the type 3900MY. The name of the yacht is carefully chosen, she is called Lucia-M. This is the first time in the company’s history to present a motor yacht with these dimensions.

The new flagship yacht of the Princess Fleet is the Princess 95. This boat has unusually large fly-bridge made from composite materials. Most advanced materials, refined construction process and interior volume make this boat excellent vessel capable of long-range relaxed cruising. Grand Soleil 50. In the world of luxury cruising yachts, the name Grand Soleil and Soleil Yachts which are based in Italian shipyard Cantiere del Pardo, are one of the synonyms for speed, high performance and extremely high quality. For this project, Doug Peterson is being engaged, the man with unique experience in America’s Cup, and as a result, the most advanced technology and materials are used for hull constructing.

Deck house and navigation station have a lower build and are now unavoidable part of any modern sailing yacht and originates from Finnish Nautor. The length of this slender ship is 14,9 meters, maximum width is 4,56 m.

Auxiliary engine is Volvo Penta with 55 Hp and the cruising speed is 7 knots. There are four cabins inside with 8-10 beds, the saloon is entirely built with cherry tree. Grand Soleil 50 features three large modern bathrooms and two additional toilets. The whole sails area is 102 m2. The deck is can be optionally covered with teak tree. This premium yacht is a result of a vision featuring optimal design and advanced technology and it has been constructed for the people who love ocean and consider it their playground. Italian Shipbuilder Fincantieri has already built more than 7000 ships of all types, and every MegaYacht wasn’t just luxury traveling ship but an expression of success, refinement and style in the same time. People in this shipyard are mainly focused to construction of huge ships bigger than 70 meters and this project that is called Project Light, and according to the name it belongs to the light category. This MegaYacht originates from the cooperation between the famous design studio Nauta Design and Fincantieri Yachts.

The Ship is 262 feet long and 46 feet wide and can accommodate twelve to fourteen guests and up to ten crew members on all five decks. There are seven ultra luxury cabins at the disposal to the owner and the guests, with a total of 770 m2 of usable space, windows area of 200 m2, and a teak-wood floor is planted on the area of 640 m2.

The engines in charge of moving this monstrous ship are more than powerful and are capable of producing 2.645 Hp each, and the cruising speed (at 85% throttle) is 17 mph., while the maximum speed is 18 mph. The autonomy of thus MegaYacht at 16 knots is 6000 nautical miles. Other numbers and load capacity are impressive as well.
